Day 2 – Wayanad Sightseeing After having breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, an integral part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, where the attraction is Jeep Safari organised by the Forest Department. Elephants roam freely here and tigers are sighted occasionally. The Reserve is also home to a small population of various species of deer, monkeys, and a profusion of birds, butterflies and insects. Day 3 –Ooty is a place which can be visited throughout the year. Each season in Ooty has something different to offer and none of the seasons is too harsh for its visitors. The Nilgiri mountain railway or the Ootty Heritage Train is a marvel in itself. The views of the mountains with the touch of weather make the place more likeable. Various adventure sports like Mountain biking and Hand gliding keeps the adrenaline flowing inside you and Soochipara Waterfalls -a three-tiered waterfalls surrounded by evergreen forest. The drive from Meppadi to Soochipara Waterfalls offers scenic views of Wayanad Next, head to visit the Edakkal Caves - which can be reached by an uphill Trek of about 1 hour, from Edakkal. Inside the caves is Stone Age carvings believed to be dating to at least 5000 BC, indicating the presence of a prehistoric civilization in this region. Next, move to see one of the rarest phenomenons on earth, the “Phantom Rock”, which resembles a skull and is a natural rock formation. Visit Pookode Lake – a scenic fresh water lake, where attractions include Boating, Fresh Water Aquarium, Handicrafts and Spice Emporium. Move to Lakkidi View Point - with its winding roads, the bird's eye view of the deep valley from here is really breath taking, next up go to Thusharagiri Waterfalls - as the name suggests, land and water have struck an extraordinary kinship at Thusharagiri (mist capped peaks). Day 4 – Ooty - Departure This is the last day of your tour. After breakfast, check-out from the hotel & proceed for sightseeing. Covering an area of around 65 acres, the Ooty Lake is a manmade lake formed in 1824 under the British. It features a boathouse which offers boating facilities to the visitors Ooty Mountain Railway, Declared as a UNESCO world heritage site, the railways were built by the British in 1908. The trains are still powered using the traditional steam engines. In the evening, proceed to Mysore, according to your train schedules.
